Galactica, Kaia and Pinetree Form Strategic Alliance to Open Fractional Real-World Investments to Global Investors
- The three entities establish an end-to-end value chain covering asset sourcing, structuring, token issuance, compliance, and distribution.
- Galactica leads asset structuring, Kaia provides the on-chain infrastructure, and Pinetree (Hanwha Investment & Securities’ Singapore subsidiary) manages regulatory compliance and distribution.
As the global on-chain Real-World Asset (RWA) market surpassed $30 billion in mid-2026, Galactica, a specialized RWA tokenization firm; Kaia, a leading Asian blockchain platform; and Pinetree Securities, the Singapore subsidiary of Hanwha Investment & Securities, announced today the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate on the tokenization and distribution of real-world assets.
This strategic alliance establishes a comprehensive, end-to-end value chain in Singapore, a rising global hub for RWA tokenization. The partnership effectively bridges institutional-grade assets with global retail and institutional investors via blockchain technology, starting with Indonesian ship finance.
Galactica will discover RWA investment opportunities, design product structures, and provide tokenization technology and frameworks. Co-founded by Kaia and the Indonesian shipping company PT Pelayaran Korindo, the Singapore-based RWA tokenization specialist has already successfully closed multiple tokenized ship finance transactions through its ship finance program, “Pegasus”. Notably, its first product, Pegasus 1, proved the model by raising funds via blockchain for a large 145,000 CBM LNG carrier and successfully repaying the principal and interest on schedule, which was closely followed by the successful closing of Pegasus 2.
Kaia will provide the blockchain infrastructure and on-chain financial system that supports the entire lifecycle of tokenized assets, including issuance, settlement, and management. In particular, it will connect liquidity to tokenized assets by linking with the Multi-Asset Yield Fund of its investment subsidiary, Kaia Investment Partners (KIP), and secure interoperability with different blockchains and systems to ensure smooth operation of on-chain financial services.
Formed through the merger of the Klaytn and Finschia blockchains, Kaia is a leading Layer 1 blockchain in Asia specialized in stablecoin payments and on-chain finance. It has built on-chain financial infrastructure focused on RWA tokenization and stablecoin-based payments and remittances. In a stablecoin Proof of Concept (PoC) with the banking sector, it demonstrated achievements by shortening remittance times to under 3 minutes and reducing fees by approximately 87% compared to the existing SWIFT network. It is broadening its touchpoints with institutional finance by establishing institutional-grade regulatory compliance systems, such as AML and transaction monitoring.
Pinetree will oversee licensing and regulatory compliance in this collaboration. It will design and operate Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering (KYC/AML) frameworks, while managing distribution and investor access utilizing its global network. Launched in December 2020 by Hanwha Investment & Securities, Pinetree’s Singapore entity has served as a bridge between Korean and Southeast Asian capital markets by sourcing promising alternative investment products and unlisted companies in Southeast Asia.
Indonesia, the primary target of this cooperation, holds more than 10% of the world’s registered ships but suffers from structural capital bottlenecks due to low accessibility to ship mortgage finance. Tokenizing ship finance can offer a new funding avenue for shipowners and provide investors with opportunities to diversify their portfolios into real-world assets. Starting with ship finance, the three companies plan to gradually expand their target asset classes to infrastructure assets and other financial products.
Regarding this collaboration, the three companies stated their goal to combine their respective strengths to develop RWA tokenization into a new standard for institutional finance.
“Building on our proven track record with the Pegasus programs, we are thrilled to partner with Pinetree and Kaia to scale our verified maritime RWAs to global investors,” said Yung-young Kim, CEO of Galactica.
Sang-min Seo, Chairman of the Kaia DLT Foundation, added: “Kaia aims to deliver an end-to-end on-chain financial infrastructure. Through this collaboration, we will expand our role as an on-chain financial hub where real-world assets are seamlessly issued, settled, and traded.”
Sang-won Lee, CEO of Pinetree, stated: “We look forward to safely implementing RWA tokenization within Singapore’s robust regulatory framework, connecting verified, high-value investment opportunities to global markets.”
